This blog is about my travels through my genealogy and the number of cases of Autism that are there in journals and oral family histories. I am an avid genealogist and have gathered many reports of "Autistic Behaviors" of other forms of mental illness that if the people were here today would be diagnosed as Autism. I have shared my video about Genetic Autism and I hope you enjoy them. This is not a place to argue genetics over toxicity or other causes of Autism. To each his own. As for us I am a Proud Aspie Mom Of Autistic Kids and our Autism is genetic.
Another good video is from someone I consider to be a friend.
It is located at Family Tradition
Thank you christschool for being you and being the great father you are to jr.

I found you reading "Autism Diva".
I have felt for along time it runs in families. My fathers brother was obviously a high functioning Autistic. I have wrote about him before. He was born in the 1920's. He was just always reffered to as "backward". He was never "sent away" as some would have done back then.
Looking back at myself, I always thought I was strange-different-weird. Never fit in and never made real connections with people "friends". As a grade schooler I could not tolerate the school envirorment--it was forced upon me. I really feel now--I was just an undiagnosed HF Autistic/Aspergers person. In the 1960's, there was no diagnosis of "Autism" spectrum disorders. I was just labled as "weird, strange, backward and a pain in the neck".
My youngest son is moderately affected and my twins are there too. I have not had Noddy absoutly diagnosed but he is.
I do not know what "causes Autism". It really does not matter to me as much as giving my kids the ability to improve social skills and know they are "ok". They have a hard time with many areas of life.
This is more than likely NOT, a great post but I wanted you to know I visited and appreichiate the blog.
